824b9b0a58 Removed SDL_GetDisplayDPI()
This function wasn't consistently correct across platforms and devices.

If you want the UI scale factor, you can use display_scale in the structure returned by SDL_GetDesktopDisplayMode(). If you need an approximate DPI, you can multiply this value times 160 on iPhone and Android, and 96 on other platforms.

6b137579ea Windows default to fullscreen desktop mode if they don't pick an explicit video mode
Rather than iterating over display modes using an index, there is a new function SDL_GetFullscreenDisplayModes() to get the list of available fullscreen modes on a display.

SDL_GetDesktopDisplayMode() and SDL_GetCurrentDisplayMode() return pointers to display modes rather than filling in application memory.

Windows now have an explicit fullscreen mode that is set, using SDL_SetWindowFullscreenMode(). The fullscreen mode for a window can be queried with SDL_GetWindowFullscreenMode(), which returns a pointer to the mode, or NULL if the window will be fullscreen desktop. SDL_SetWindowFullscreen() just takes a boolean value, setting the correct fullscreen state based on the selected mode.

24fec13ac1 Add full high DPI information to SDL_DisplayMode
SDL_DisplayMode now includes the pixel size, the screen size and the relationship between the two. For example, a 4K display at 200% scale could have a pixel size of 3840x2160, a screen size of 1920x1080, and a display scale of 2.0.

63724c113b Removed the vi format comments from the source
Vim users can use the [editorconfig plugin](https://github.com/editorconfig/editorconfig-vim) to automatically set tab spacing for the SDL coding style.

5750bcb174 Update for SDL3 coding style (#6717)
I updated .clang-format and ran clang-format 14 over the src and test directories to standardize the code base.

In general I let clang-format have it's way, and added markup to prevent formatting of code that would break or be completely unreadable if formatted.

The script I ran for the src directory is added as build-scripts/clang-format-src.sh

0644042eb8 egl: implement public functions to obtain internal EGL handles
These functions allow applications to call EGL functions against the SDL
EGL context. For example, applications can use an EGL API loader via
SDL_EGL_GetCurrentDisplay and SDL_EGL_GetProcAddress, and can call
functions such as eglQuerySurface against the internal EGLSurface and
EGLDisplay.

f5a980448e Android: add SetWindowResizable() implementation
- which also enable/disable the orientation lock status.

This is only provided when the window is not SDL_WINDOW_FULLSCREEN (see SDL_video.c).
Final orientation also depends on SDL_HINT_ORIENTATIONS.

98a966d1c2 Android: don't need to set the SurfaceHolder format from java code
It's already set with ANativeWindow_setGeometry, and eventually set/changed also by eglCreateWindowSurface.
 - avoid issues with older device where SurfaceView cycle create/changed/destroy appears broken:
   calling create/changed/changed, and leading to "deuqueBuffer failed at server side, error: -19", with black screen.
 - re-read the format after egl window surface is created, to report the correct one (sometimes, changed from RGBA8888 to RGB24)

Add hint SDL_HINT_ANDROID_BLOCK_ON_PAUSE_PAUSEAUDIO not to pause audio when
the app goes to background.
(It requires SDL_ANDROID_BLOCK_ON_PAUSE as "Non blocking")

052a13738d Merge VideoBootStrap::available into VideoBootStrap::create
The two are only ever called together, and combining them makes it possible
to eliminate redundant symbol loading and redundant attempts to connect
to a display server.

e5f8801f55 Android: prevent concurrency in Android_SetScreenResolution() when exiting
by checking Android_Window validity

- SDLThread: user application is exiting:
    SDL_VideoQuit() and clearing SDL_GetVideoDevice()

- ActivityThread is changing orientation/size
    surfaceChanged() > Android_SetScreenResolution() > SDL_GetVideoDevice()

- Separate function into Android_SetScreenResolution() and Android_SendResize(),
    formating, and mark Android_DeviceWidth/Heigh as static

Use a semaphore to prevent concurrency issues between Java Activity and Native thread code, when using 'Android_Window'.
(Eg. Java sending Touch events, while native code is destroying the main SDL_Window. )

fe196db774 Track android device panel width & height as well as window surface & height.
Expand SDLActivity::SDLSurface::surfaceChanged() callback to grab the panel width and height at the same time and pass that along to the native code. Only works on API 17+. Duplicates surface dimensions whenever it fails.

Add Android_DeviceWidth/Android_DeviceHeight globals to native code.
Disambiguate Android_ScreenWidth/Android_ScreenHeight -> Android_SurfaceWidth/Android_SurfaceHeight
Use device width/height for all display mode settings.

6e01fbb763 On Android show the system UI when an SDL window is windowed, hide the system UI when it's fullscreen, like we do on iOS.
We're increasing the Android SDK minimum version to API 19, this doesn't increase the minimum target API, which is API 14.
